kanalaritja: An Unbroken String, Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery
Project description
A national travelling exhibition of shell necklaces made by Tasmanian Aboriginal women. For this project Red Arrow designed a curved elliptical plywood cabinet that was both lightweight but very strong and secure. The plywood panels were printed with direct print graphics via a flat bed printer. The cabinets were all on castors that allowed them to be wheeled into custom made plywood crates for transport from site to site. The necklaces were displayed on special plaster stands designed and created by Tasmanian artist and ceramist Belinda Winkler and sprayed with an E0 museum grade paint.
